Another week's gone by.
let's see...
what have i learnt so far?

1. Always empty your bladder before you go for any hearing in the High Court.

2. Some law firms use money to entice ppl,
others use chocolate eclairs, carrot cake, hokkien mee and loads of silly games with cutesy prizes.
Useless TitBit: i was in Team Powerpuff which won the 1st game.

3. When you think you're one helluva mess-up,
there's always someone who's even more screwed than you.

4. The boyfriend is a bona fide chef already.

5. And he has an unhealthy obsession with heart jewellery.
got a Tiff heart diamond necklace for my bdae.
same range as the ring which i got last year. but twice the price-tag. OUCH!
SWEET!

gonna go catch Star Wars in about 2 hrs time with a buncha ppl.

thanks to the two PEIs and my cousin Yan for the 2 LAMB clutch purses!
and esp to FIN who came all the way to my place to deliver her gift....
a girl couldn't be more grateful.

Being an intern for the past week or so has NOT been easy.
in fact,
that's actually an understatement.

I've been doing non-stop research,
typing out shit
and reading articles and cases harder than even when i was preping for the exams!

good lordie.
there're the good parts of course,
like the bonding i do with the girls over lunch,
and it's strange how working together and wallowing in misery while trembling in the cold office can pull people together.

I have to say that after this short stint,
i'm gonna stop pre-judging people (to my best ability)
and simply befriend them regardless of what narrow-minded perception my critical and horribly bitchy inner self throws out.

I'm not kidding when i say i'm the worst when it comes to people.
I can know a person for a while,
but maybe after some time,
I realised that the person is wearing the wrong type of shoes,
or carrying an awful bag,
or is too short,
or has icky hair...
and then the transition from a mere acquaintance to a friend never happens.

so what happens is i have a helluva lot of superficial acquaintances
because of my bigot ways.
it shouldn't BE like this!!!!!!!
I'm a bigger person than that!!!!!

Of course,
for the 1st few days,
i found myself thinking to myself whenever one of the superficial acquaintances
talks to me.
i'd think to myself...

"wahliew, make-up wear so thick for what. law office leh. not wayang!"

"stupid short guy, get outta my way."

"skinny anorexic girl. think u very chio issit?"

yeah... that's just an insight as to how HORRIBLE my mind works.
but guess what??
a few more days into the job,
I changed my perception for the better.
so i can now proudly proclaim that 5 acquaintances have made the transition.
let's hope I have tamed the bigot in me.

ah well...
today was a horrible day.
spent a good 6 hours in court,
whereby 2 and a half of which my bladder almost burst.
it was fun dining with the partner and his associates at the court's cafe...
and watching the other lawyers' snooty little ways.

I had a great breakfast today.
Tuna on toast, 2 fried scrambled eggs with watery insides. just the way i like it!
and a hot cup of milo.

dinner was the best,
with american fried rice,
clam chowder and salad.

brian's becoming a real chef, isn't he?
i'm glad.
i wouldn't know what i'd do without him.

I woke up bawling this morning.
it was a horrrrrrible nitemare.

i'll bet this qualifies for the WEIRDEST dream ever.

brian died in my dream.
and he was going around like a regular person, except he was a ghost.
and i was just crying everyday,
cos he'd have to leave me the moment he gets called for reincarnation.

the worst part was that my sisters and frenz didn't get why i was so upset.
they were blase about it.
and i kept telling them, "but he was the love of my life..."
and they'd shut me up.

strangest thing was i could contact brian the ghost via handphone,
and once i called him,
he was at geylang calling for a prostitute,
cos now that he was a ghost,
he didn't have to worry about STDs.
and i told him i understood and asked him to go ahead!!! ( what? i'd never do that!)

i woke up sobbing really hard.
and brian had to coax me back to sleep.
i know,
i'm such a big baby.

later it's time for the mother's day surprise that me and my sisters are springing.
and den it's yanxin's belated bdae thingmaji.
perhaps i'll post photos,
perhaps i won't.

the simplest stuff can throw me off.
the way someone speaks to me.
the way someone says goodbye on the fone.
the way someone does anything and everything cos i always feel this strong sense of defence kicking in.

it's like i'm always protecting myself from something unknown.
i feel like the moment anything strays from the perfect path that is in my mind,
everything will go downhill and i'd be broken.

it's hard to explain.
it's even harder to justify it.
it can't be justified as much as i want to.
neither can it go away as much as i want it to.
